This has been allowed in Tycho and will be part of 0.19.0 release.
I'm currently negotiating around the opportunity to avoid making a profile mandatory: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=419561 , so it wouldn't require yet-another-profile and we could try it against Tycho 0.19.0-SNAPSHOT.
