We solved the issue in JBDS by adding m2eclipse-egit to the installer (JBDS-2943).

As for JBoss Tools, the only way I can think of to fix the problem is to add m2eclipse-egit as an optional dependency to maven.core. It's pretty dirty, does anyone have a better idea? cc [~mickael_istria], [~nickboldt]
