Max Rydahl Andersen commented on JBIDE-18901:
---------------------------------------------

Adding this kind of support to cordova project import will just add yet another way to clone in eclipse - and they are all crappy since they all just wont handle most common cases (different security setup, branching etc.)

The general problem here is that once the project is cloned there is no way in eclipse to actually identify "unknown" projects unless they have .project already in the project.

We are trying to fix this problem at eclipse by our easymport feature (https://github.com/jbosstools/jbosstools-playground) that would allow users (and plugins) to take a guess at identifying projects properly.

I can't really think of a better way of handling it since cordova project import need to do similar to actually detect which folders inside the cloned git repo should be imported/configured as projects.

> Currently, the git clone wizard does not work with the Cordova project import. The end-user must run the git clone wizard to a point, then cancel out, then start the cordova project import wizard.
> In addition, the git clone wizard is fairly "hard to use".
> Feature proposal: add git clone support to the Cordova project import - so it can import from file system AND import from a git URL.
