.project file is how eclipse recognizes an eclipse project.

config.json is actually what the Cordova CLI and Phonegap uses to recognize cordova projects. In the next release, we will also be using config.json to store the Cordova engine & version used by the project. Both of these files are meant to be shared. 

[~mmurray] Can you suggest, how we should proceed with this?
