I like this approach [~dgolovin] - provide a decent fallback and then for others we can extend it when we have content that can provide more specifics.

Your link also give me the idea we can have a docs owned ([~mmurray]) owned plugin that contribute the external links which could handle any movements of documentation urls (historically they haven't been very stable ;) without having all plugins update their locations.
