I agree with Max, supporting other project types is secondary. 

If you decide to implement it Thym detects Cordova projects by checking for config.xml file. Config.xml file may be either on the project root or inside the www folder. However, this is the current state of the affairs and there are no governing bodies with Cordova to ensure this structure will remain same for a long time.
