It should be cool if you provide a patch for this problem, or create an issue to tern.java. I will try to fix when I will have time.

I suggest you that you enable tern console to see trace of node.js. To enable tern console, please read https://github.com/angelozerr/tern.java/wiki/Tern-Console

Please check too that you have ecma5 which is checked in your Tern -> Facets project properties.
