Actually, m2e scans for pom.xml recursively, the real problem is m2eclipse-egit always checking out the master branch and ticket-monster not having such branch. See https://github.com/tesla/m2eclipse-egit/issues/6

I proposed a fix for this particular issue : https://github.com/tesla/m2eclipse-egit/pull/11

There are still outsanding issues with m2eclipse-egit, such as the impossibility to check out different branch
