I have absolutely no idea what you are referencing here. As far as I can tell, the JMX Explorer has no settings. It has only 3 top-level elements (user-defined, processes, servers) and the view itself can be customized in the common-nav way of enabling or disabling content.   Where do you see any settings in the JMX Explorer? I believe no preference page exists for this view, either.
