Just want to record my +1 on disabling the dialog popup since m2e already adds hardcoded paths without warnings (hate we have to be bad just because m2e is)

about contribution to m2e we would need to make our source lookup more generic (right now it is hardcoded to our server types and API) to be even feasible.
