Was able to reproduce your issue starting from JBDS installer jbdevstudio-product-universal-8.0.0.Beta1-v20140323-1410-B78.jar, however.

I will add org.eclipse.mylyn.tasks.ide.feature.group [3.11.0,3.12.0) to the JBT Central target platform.
