Nick Boldt commented on JBIDE-15803:
------------------------------------
Git commit ID for what project? the individual projects that make up JBT? or jbosstools-build (parent pom) ? or jbosstools-build-sites (aggregate site) ? or jbdevstudio-product (installer) ?
Surely the Bxxxx number isn't a problem and helps more than it hinders. It's much easier to read & refer to than a 16-digit SHA hash... especially when the hash hasn't changed in a month (eg., jbosstools-build-sites) but there have been several respins since (Beta1, Beta1a, Beta1b each have a different BUILD_NUMBER in Jenkins).

> We did set up git-based reproducible qualifiers but in the other end, we have the qualifier always changing because it contains the BUILD_NUMBER.
> Those metadata should not be part of the qualifier, but should instead be in a future index.html, or attached to the Maven artifact.
