I found an issue where you can end up with both jdk 1.7 and 1.8 in a server's classpath: JBIDE-17437
But with respect to facets, it works as expected - it is now possible to select java 8 and I can use java 8 language constructs. Verified in JBDS 8.0.0.Beta2 B104
