[~dgolovin] What did you do to receive the error you got?

I tried these:

a) unpack Eclipse Luna M7 JEE bundle (linux 64): eclipse-jee-luna-M7-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz
b) launch with JDK 8
c) Help > install > browse for local archive jboss-devstudio-8.0.0.Beta2-v20140525-2146-B104-installer-standalone.jar
- or - 
c) Help > install > https://devstudio.jboss.com/updates/8.0-staging/
d) select "BYOE" feature
e) install, restart when prompted

(no tern, aerogear, or jst.jsdt plugins/features were installed)

(Now I get aerogear features/plugins + org.jboss.tools.jst.jsdt + tern.* plugins installed)

So... cannot reproduce. Can you provide more details on what you did and how it failed?
