as discussed during f2f this initially would only happen when they are GA, thus this should *not* (at first) need any new updatesite.

If we want to expose development/non-final installs on marketplace for IS *then* that will be required - but then we are talking an install that is will be working/targeting development releases of JBoss Tools / Developer Studio content comes from. This might not be a problem since 8.x should be api backwards compatible anyways but it is just something both core and IS team need to be aware about.

Thats why at f2f it was discussed as being done for 7.0 first (we need to cleanup the updatesite first so there is just one updatesite like for devstudio 8) and then do it for devstudio 8 when going GA.

btw. I'm not following what this item is about:
"In JBDS 8.1, add a new com.jboss.devstudio.core.central.feature that packages up com.jboss.devstudio.core.central plugin; include this in com.jboss.devstudio.core.feature instead of the plugin?" ? what is this solving ? what is it needed for ?
