The underlying issue is not fixed, the current fix here is purely hiding the bug by fixing the related bug about the values in ide.properties not being correct. I've cloned to JBIDE-18819 to get this fixed completely.

About the hardcoded values in parent pom those values does matter without an actual rebuild of the related plugins and we are working towards trying to avoid rebuilds thus putting the values. This was done in https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-13452.
