Well, we DID decide to now support updating JBDS BYOE feature w/o also updating the product feature (if installed from installer). And we sort of decided it was acceptable to support piecemeal updates to part of JBDS BYOE w/o also updating the BYOE feature itself... with some caveats. I don't think QE ever signed off on that plan, but releng and GSS were cool with it.

I can't find the JIRA where we decided we wanted JBDS BYOE and JBDS via installer to *both* prevent users from updating piecemeal the bits of JBDS. I'm sure it's somewhere. But that aside, if want this for 8.1 / 9.0, we can simply change the BYOE feature to use *requires* instead of *includes*, and then make sure that we don't lose anything from the update site used to build the installer. [~maxandersen] should I open a JIRA for that?
