[~burrsutter], it seems to be broken for only 0.2.11 and 0.2.12 versions of the plugin - !contacts.png|thumbnail!. With 0.2.10 your demo should work fine. Probably phonegap guys have slightly reаfactor the code. Will try to provide PR today

^ I do believe that it's also JavaFx 8 upstream issue, which (I hope!) will be fixed in the upcoming JDK releases. I have already created the issue for  JavaFx team which is coupled with Ionic rendering - https://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-38591 . Could you confirm that transition works smoothly  with SWT.WEBKIT webEngine and with javaFx 7 ? If so we, should probably add more details to RT-38591 or create one more epic issue which will cover all rendering / transition problems that are coupled with JavaFx Lombard
