What is your initial installation of JBoss Tools? You took a Luna JEE and only selected the "Abbriged" category?
Your screencasts seem to show that you're using JBDS. Is this something you've also tried with JBoss Tools?

When installed with installer, JBDS doesn't contain the following features out-of-the-box:
* org.jboss.tools.aerogear.thym.feature
* org.jboss.tools.vpe.cordovasim.feature
* org.jboss.tools.jst.angularjs.feature
So it still makes sense to show the connector as installable since it provides more features that what's available in JBDS.
