Max Rydahl Andersen commented on JBDS-3200:
-------------------------------------------

There are two issues in here:

A) provide jboss developer studio from mac app store

B) fix identified developer warning

Part A I definitely do not think we can fix since afaik App store still disallow apps that needs to connect to other remote apps and filesystems (only exception is xcode by Apple itself)

Part B is the tricky part - if our devstudio.app folder is not signed then we get a warning/error - we should at least be aware
if we have this issue or Not and then document it and start figuring out how to avoid it.

Most likely Windows 10 could have similar issues down the line.

> Hello,
> I just downloaded the new installer for JBoss Developer Studio 8.0.0.GA from here:
> https://access.cdn.redhat.com/content/origin/files/sha256/9f/9f3fab096014e0a14d9038d68677a2f4223e1a978447232b5f8b1e17cc58b989/jboss-devstudio-8.0.0.GA-v20141020-1042-B317-installer-eap.jar?_auth_=1414318523_22d0763be4332b55c325ef22cdff8386
> Download was very fast. Afterwards I double clicked on the installer. Unfortunately it showed me a message that I can only install applications from the mac app store.
> {panel}
> "jboss-devstudio-8.0.0.GA-v20141020-1042-B317-installer-eap.jar" can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.
> Your security preferences allow installation of only app from the Mac App Store and identified developers.
> {panel}
> Right click on the file and then selecting open gives me the opportunity to ignore this warning.
> Nevertheless it might happen that users don't know this solution.
> Hope that helps
>     Manuel
