I believe there are 2 causes of issues in this ticket:
The stack trace showing widget not null is caused by a metacity issue on beaker slaves. In the same log, you can read "metacity:ERROR:ui/ui.c:597:meta_ui_get_default_window_icon: assertion failed: (default_icon)" which is the main symptom. It's tracked on https://engineering.redhat.com/rt/Ticket/Display.html?id=354581 .
The other issue is probably caused by the overkill removal of oomph bundles I did put in the job configuration.
