[~rruss] For this issue I had investigated how hard it would be to remove XULRunner visual editor from code point of view. It is almost done except removing modified plugins/features. I will finish it in some days after 4.2.3.Beta1 Codefreeze and we will see if it is OK to deprecate XULRunner visual editor in 8.1 and remove it in 9.

About what Burr says in description to this issue(remove tabs for Mac OS) - it is easy to fix and I will do it for Alpha2(or maybe for 4.2.3 Beta1 if changes is not risky)
