just to confirm what I've sent on email - CDDL is fine for us to use. The bad part is we shouldn't write/contribute to CDDL but that is not the case here.

The JAXB features are in Eclipse Dali - something that is in both TP and IS target platform thus you should investigate if you are adding overlapping functionality/menu/wizards.
