Why not do it:

a) "no need to do anything here (except remember to not do it next time)" - Nick 
b) this commit got in via some unreviewed commits - who want to check we don't have anything else new in the changeset ?
c) the version is unfortunate, but the timestamp "saves" us and it is only a beta1 - lets focus on fixing it for beta2
d) you'll have to ensure everyone who already installed from stage, installs not update since we will go "back in time" 
e) we only have 3 days to recover from any error and to inform all about whats needed - see #b #d

And that Base did it last week with an upcoming respin and 10 days before release ...well, they didn't have all of the above issues.
