Jeff Cantrill commented on JBIDE-20095:
---------------------------------------

[~maxandersen] In the 3.0 release of OpenShift origin, there is no way of knowing what values are required. I had this conversation with Ben Parees after our conversation about required template parameters. The out outcome of my conversation with Ben:
* We can not make assumptions about required values because empty values could be a legitimate use case
* Owners of https://github.com/jboss-openshift/application-templates were asked to provide sensible defaults for things like source urls
* Post 3.0 enhancement to identify required parameters.

In regards to your questions:
1) I think once we are able to determine what is required we can provide the warning
2) You can delete the pieces are even retry the template though this experience is odd IMO

> using https://github.com/jboss-openshift/application-templates/blob/master/eap/eap6-basic-sti.json (v1beta3) a lot of variables are shown, click next/next and all is created except build configs stating "values are required"
> 1) why am I not warned *Before* starting to create things ?
> 2) why cannot undo/delete the things that was created but now useless since buildconfig not created ?
