Rob Stryker commented on JBIDE-19463:
-------------------------------------

Ok, I've done some more testing, and I'm not sure where you'd like to see a warning here, [~mmalina].

The (bad) idea I was just testing out was to always show the connect / disconnect menu actions, but have them enabled / disabled, and use a tooltip text if the action is disabled.

Problem is, 1) I've never seen any menu action have a tooltip before, and 2) it doesn't seem to work anyway.

So it seems that's not a valid option really ;)

I think it'd be wrong to have the actions always enabled and show a messagebox on failure. If we know in advance the action won't work, it seems wrong to show it enabled.

So... any ideas how you'd like to see this warning displayed?

> When you start a remote EAP 6.3 server with management enabled and set up and then want to connect in JMX Navigator, it does not work - double clicking the connection will not do anything and when you right-click, there is no Connect item.
> For local servers this works fine - there is a Connect item when you right-click the server in JMX Navigator.
