Thank you everyone for all this information and your feedback. I'm approaching this as a two article issue, with the first article addressing basic Maven tasks and then a second one with slightly more advanced functionality and troubleshooting, as I outlined earlier. I'll post the links to the finalized drafts here when I send it to QE for review, so that anyone can view the content and add your comments.
