[~hardy.ferentschik] I don't know of somewhere it was tried to make it so properties view was "embedded" - I've seen views try and *not* use the properties view so you were then forced to have large parts of your screen dedicated to multiple "properties like" views which was bad.

One way to make this nicer could be to have a way to hide/show a properties view *inside* a view - basically a "slide-in" that behaves exactly like a properties view but only react to selections within the view. That might not be a bad idea since then I could turn it on/off depending on personal preference on how I use views.
