Mickael Istria commented on JBIDE-19768:
----------------------------------------

In some extent, we have some guarantees on some projects (such as a pom.xml and a .project are much much likely to be imported), so we can run a 1st pass of check before importing anything and show a preview of what's possible.
However, in case of hybrid projects (parts with Maven, some without formal project files) trusting only this 1st pass will miss important projects. So the trade-off is to show as many potential nested projects, allow people to select/exclude them individually, and let people run import either with the recursive configuration (to detect non formalized projects) or without.

> At the moment, all nested projects are imported - it would be useful to have the possibility to select which projects one wants to import.
> Also, sometimes projects contain test data that are detected as projects - this feature would help also in this case.
