That is correct.  Follow-up work to allow you to expose additional ports is https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-20531.  I should clarify is that you can choose to expose fewer ports then the image does but not add more then is explicitly defined in the docker metadata.  The follow on task would allow you to do that.
