Nothing has been really fixed, only a workaround (by installing whitelist plugin) found. Proper fix requires more changes in the code, and that is too risky so close to GA. Thus I'm reopening and moving this jira to future release targeting 4.4.0.Alpha1.  I hope for a solution that works out of the box.
