So - what are the options here:

1) An extra 260MB unused bits in the downloadable update site .zip?

or

2) fix the release process so that both the site and the zip contain the same timestamped version of the core product feature

2) Inform users that after a clean install, there are updates available, and when they update nothing seems to have changed?
