[~vikramjammula] I'm closing this issue as a duplicate.
Please install JBDS 8.1.0.GA or JBDS 9.0.0.CR1 where this issue with failing update is fixed.
If you can install a newer version or prefer to stay with 8.0 for whatever reason then try a workaround described in JBDS-3295. It should help.
Please re-open the issue if you still can reproduce it on JBDS 8.1/9.0.
