[~jeffmaury] The specific that we discussed is the ability of many maven based images to use a MAVEN_MIRROR_URL (see here: https://docs.openshift.org/latest/dev_guide/app_tutorials/maven_tutorial.html) that allows you specify a mirror that's offers greater performance than the default that's being used. As far as I understood this env var is missing in the eap template and thus, creating a new param alone wont help. We also have to change the template. 
Nevertheless, if oc allows it we should consider it I think.
