Rob ended up removing it for both - the attached PR removed it for WF 10, and then in https://github.com/jbosstools/jbosstools-server/commit/19c7ddaf815ba2199406e56cf117f71e9121c608 which was the commit for JBIDE-21677, Rob smuggled in the change to remove this for EAP 7 also ;)
For a moment I wasn't sure if this is actually what we wanted, but then I found this in the JBDS PM Meeting 2016-Feb-18 minutes:
Remove the "experimental" label - ready for JBDS 9.1.0

So I think it should be fine :)
