I am still of the opinion this work should be deferred until the upstream changes in Kubernetes are merged.  There are several referenced PR's in the issue that have merged but its work on our side to maintain.  The ONLY benefit I can imagine at the moment is we would be able to support cascade deletes for clusters that are pre-merge of this feature.
