It happens for me on Mac also - CDK 2.1 RC3 + devstudio-10.0.0.GA-v20160615-0653-B30-installer-standalone.jar .
I tried again with cdk 2.1 from a week ago and it worked. So it's some kind of regression in cdk 2.1 rc3.
I'm using the same vagrant box for virtualbox (I believe there wasn't a new one). The plugins are the same version. So the only difference is the Vagrantfile:
