I'll be pushing a fix in Docker Tooling to resolve the freeze. It resolved the issue for me (Linux and OSX) and will be here : https://rgrunber.fedorapeople.org/linuxtools/update-docker/ (until I push it through and have it reviewed). You can try using your JBDS installation, and just update the "Docker Tooling" feature from that update site. Then try to see if you can reproduce.
