I used the user provided in the email which probably has no right to assign.
So I suggest :
* change the email so that we use our own JIRA use
* change the script so that if assign fails an error message is issued but the JIRA number is returned

But those JIRAs are not initially assigned to a user, so the user of the scripts (createnewandnotworthy,....) must update all the created JIRAs.
