According to [my comment|https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-23184?focusedCommentId=13323609&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel#comment-13323609] in the linked JBIDE-23184, Projects - is the starting point for Watching, not Connections. That's why we won't be watching anything until we expand the connection and get a list of projects. 
I'll try to get a list of projects, when we work with server adapter
