Can you attach an image or listing of the output that shows this?

In our code, all passwords are read as follows: https://github.com/minishift/minishift/blob/a9fc054fca4820cb9e249b71e6c28b01a7b123f8/pkg/util/input.go#L37 as to prevent the output to be printed. Likely the console plugin does not provide us with a filedescriptor?
