[~rob.stryker], kudos for adding a test. But that doesn't change the fact that it does not work correctly for us no matter that it should. 
I'm not sure exactly what the change you made does:
"if( matchesHomeMinishift || matchesEnvVar ) {"
But it seems unrelated?
