FWIW - There was related discussion in [JBDS-4411  - DevSuite 1.4 installer display required disk space |https://issues.jboss.org/projects/JBDS/issues/JBDS-4411], which looks like it got closed because the installer is now displaying the size of the download.  

The required disk space will actually be some *multiple of the download size* since you need to have disk space for the download (compressed) the extracted files (uncompressed) and any other temporary files.  At least 10-15 GB was needed for just DevStudio, CDK, and Cygwin.
