It looks like the logic to ping() a connection for confirmation that it's in working order ends up calling the connection manager, but the manager hasn't finished instantiating all connections, so the code to do so (reloadConnections()) gets triggered once again, causing the issue.

The connection manager listeners could always be moved out or changed in a way that doesn't require calling getInstance().
