It sounds like the server is somehow being added as a as7.x server rather than a wildfly server.

Can you tell us what steps you did to create your server? DId you add it manually via the new server wizard, or via runtime detection?

If it's using the 7.x server adapter, then its probably also using the wrong management jars to communicate with the server, and that'd explain the reason it can't verify the server state.

Can you right-click your server, go to properties, and select "change location"?  This should create a folder in your workspace with a file inside of it representing your server adapter. You can then attach that or at least copy and paste the text here on the forum. That would help us discover what's going on with your specific server.
