Jonathan Halliday commented on JBTM-44:

Refactoring of the jca subordinate tx support (JBTM-505) should make it possible to have the bridge run on both JTA and JTAX much more cleanly. The addition of subordinate tx control in XTS should also make it possible to write the reverse side of the bridge. However, crash recovery in that direction may be tricky due to issues with classloading XAResource impls. Definite progress though. Bridge code should be ready to move from workspace to trunk in the 4.7 timeframe, although probably not production ready until 4.8
