The documentation still needs updating to explain the new properties but the unit tests (and implementation) have been pushed to master.

The settings to configure asynchronous synchronizations are global (which restricts their usefulness) since TxControl caches them in static variables. When I make a start on cleaning up the transactions SPI (JBTM-1699) I will include a mechanism to configure async behaviour on a per action basis.
