I think you will need that, for sure. We have something similar in PL SAML IdP and it helps a lot when you need more control on how claims are handled.

Regarding the "TokenTransformerProvider", that is also something you may need as well. We also provide something similar in PL SAML IdP, where users can customize the assertion before sending it back to SPs.
