Thanks for the observation.
I was able to fix this issue as it was a bug in my code owing to the
reconnect logic I had in the channelClosed of the parent class.
However, the SSL handshake was something completely missing in my code code.
I wonder why I didn't run into this issue yet.
Likely because the code is still in development and I am using the dummy
certificate code you have provided.
Just to mention, we have been very pleased and happy with netty's
performance and api structure.
Its really a great effort.
