Encoder for binary protocol

Thanks Bruno for your quick and detailed response.
The multi-class solution you suggested is definitely a good option. However,
as you also hinted, we are now deciding to directly use the ChannelBuffer.
Our application already has a Message class with behavior akin to that of
ChannelBuffer. We could extend ChannelBuffer to derive our Message class
which would then act as a bridge between the application and Netty.
